Testing Different Offers for the Same Niche

Plew…PPC Classroom 2.0 launch complete! We’ve now shut our doors and will now shift our focus to helping our students succeed.

We had over 6000 scramble to join PPC Classroom over the last 7 days and many are ALREADY having success.

Now it’s time to get back to my regular blog posting….. ;)

Here’s a very typical scenario…

You find a HOT affiliate offer, it convert well, you’re making a profit and then you just focus on just building up that offer.

Well, let me ask you, did you bother testing similar affiliate offers in the same niche to see if they convert better??

Sure the offer your promoting may be convert well, but you may be missing out on a better offer and as a result leaving a ton of money on the table.

I’m made this mistake a ton of times! Yeah, I know it take MORE time to setup a seperate landing page for different affiliate offers and rotate them to see which bring in the most $$.

But you know what?

In a lot of cases you can just direct link to 3,4, or 5 different offers in your niche and see which one converts better before you bust out a landing page.

Here’s another instance where you want to start testing affiliate offers….

Let’s say you’ve been running an offer for a long time and suddenly it plummets, conversion go into the toilet. Chances are the offer your promoting has reach the end of it’s life cycle – it’s DEAD. And I’m NOT talking about seasonality here.

Now you could just drop the whole niche and move onto something else, BUT if you know the niche is long term and profitable then start testing other offers in that niche and hey you may find one that converts really well and revives your dead campaign.

This is a really smart strategy since you already have a ppc campaign and affiliate site in place. You just need to change your page so it’s pushing the new, higher converting offer.

    Hi Amit!

I just found out about your PPC Classroom about an hour ago! It appears as though I am a half a day too late.

By the way, you will remember me as qualitygoods. We had met on the Adwordsmentor forum and talked a few times with Skype.

Is it too late for me to get in?

I have actually given up on Google. Every single Campaign has been paused for 4 Months now. Just yesterday, I launched a web site with unique content. Perfectly designed and optimized for the search engines. Keyword specific pages. Created a Google Campaign yesterday. The first time that I have ran a Campaign in 4 Months. Each Adgroup had only 5 keywords. Each adgroup had a specific landing page that was keyword targeted. I thought it was the perfect site to achieve great quality scores. Then when I got home from work today, I checked my Campaign and almost every single keyword has a poor quality score. Not many clicks. This is exactly the reason why I gave up and just paused my Campaigns 4 Months ago. Nothing but frustration. Spend a lot of time creating a Quality score friendly site only to find Google slapping it silly and saying that it is poor quality.

Yes, I did mention work. I went Full Time with PPC shortly before you did. I went Full Time in May of 2005. You went Full Time a few Months later, I think. I`m pretty sure it was around the same time. Well, I have been working for a year and a half because my PPC profits were going down the drain. Remember the dream house that I was planning on building? I ended up buying my dream house instead. Only because the perfect place became available. But I can`t afford my place much longer. I`ve been going back into debt again because my Monthly bills exceed my income. I`ve been desperately trying to get things back on track.

  4. I can vouch for this method, I have been testing offers on every campaign I do because you never know which converts better until you try it.

A good example is one I did recently, one offer had a ecpc of about $1.2 which i was happy with, I tested it against another and that one was constantly pushing $1.50.

Over the course of a week, a month or a year you can see how much extra that will pay with doing very little work.

    Hi Amit,

I’m researching affiliate offers now after completing all the modules. One question I have is that you recommended Keycompete, but in the videos in Niche Detective you use Keywordspy. Do you recommend one over the other, or is it just that they provide two different things. Would you recommend getting both or is that overkill?

  6. Nikhil says:

I just reread Module 2 and you already answer my question there.

    Sorry

  7. MLRebecca says:

Good advice, Amit! I can definitely see how affiliate marketers could fall into that pattern. If an offer is doing well, why not focus all of your time and energy on it? But as you suggested, it wouldn’t hurt to test offers along the same vertical. Thanks for posting!

  8. Oliver says:

WOW Congratulations on your succeess on PPC 2.0!!
So that means you guys made $462,000 out of this? WOW. Plus the residual income you will generate. Thats tons of monies!

  9. Gerto says:

I’m very glad that you’re returning to your regular blog posting :-)

Great advice, wouldn’t have thought of that!

  10. Gee says:

How do you define success? Making one sale is not success KARRAX. Sure PPC classroom is good (for newbies) but don’t expect cask to just drop in your laps from now on. PPC requires lot of money and time investment even when you’re not new (for example going into going a new niche).
