Super Affiliate Perk : Having a Mobile Income

May 16th, 2008 by Amit

My Condo’s almost empty, mover are here right now clearing it out.

My wife and I are moving to Coral Gables in Miami, Florida! For the next 6 months I’m going to be soaking in some sun in South Florida. :) We’re renting out a luxury penthouse apartment, it’s about 1400 sq ft and on the 17th floor.

Miami is VERY different than Boston, it’s more than just a change in scenery, it’s a whole different culture down there. Will be fun!

Now if I was a high level corporate stiff neck I could possibly make as much as I’m making now as super affiliate. However, not only would I be working 80 hrs a week, I’d be stuck living in ONE place. I wouldn’t be going to Miami, or anywhere else for that matter, unless the company decided to relocate me.

You see, there’s a lot more to this business than making a boat load of money (although I have to admit that’s a nice perk!) I don’t care how much money you make in your job, there’s nothing in the world better than having the freedom to do what you want, where you want, with whom you want.

Since I’ve been a full time super affiliate it seems that my wife and I have been traveling non stop and loving every minute of it! Paris, Alaska, Bermuda, London, Austin, India, Monoco, Miami, etc, etc… We spend 4 months in 2007 traveling.

Our travel schedule is actually light compared to several members of my super affiliate mastermind, who take frequent 2-4 month vacations!

I really don’t like using the term ‘vacation’, my wife and I don’t take vacations in the normal sense of the word, we’re just living & enjoying life in a different location. Vacations are what job people use to recover from the daily stress of being in the rat race.

Have you ever thought where you would live if you had NO restrictions? If you could run your whole business off your laptop, where would you live and what parts of the world would you travel to?

PS While I’m busy moving I’ll have several guest bloggers who will be filling in for me, including Anik Singal, founder of Affiliate Classroom and big time super affiliate. So stay tuned!

These are my top choices if I had money and no restrictions:

    1) San Diego

    2) Barcelona/Madrid

    3) London

    4) Paris

I want to ask you a question about finding a niche. how do you do it and have you ever written a post on that before?

Also do you use any of these: wordze, wordtracker, etc, etc

This is the biggest perk for me. If I could make 100k a year doing this (which I think I can with some more effort) I would be traveling much more.

I think you’re going to like it here Amit. It’s a fun place especially if you like the water. You may have to get used to the heat and humidity though it’s 92 degrees here today. I live up in Boca Raton near Rich Schefren. Let’s do lunch, LOL

Even if you get to the point of a moderate affiliate income ($100/day), you could live like a king in Thailand, India, Africa, and many other parts of the world.

I would highly recommend traveling if you are an affiliate with no kids and no debt. I took a 2.5 year trip around the world and I got back 10 months ago..

Now I think I’m off to Shanghai soon..

We have the best “job” in the world and it’s awesome to realize that and take advantage of the opportunity/blessing we have been given to be in this industry.

That is my dream and my coming reality, to be totally mobile at any time anywhere. A couple places I will check out, Peru, Ireland, Bora Bora, Egypt (got to see the pyramids) and so many others.

Timothy Ferriss talks about it in his book, about mini vacations or mini retirement sessions. Work hard but take some time to enjoy life when you’re able and young.

Amit you will love FL especially Miami. Just got back from their and fell in love with the city. Almost all my family has moved to Naples FL. They love it 85 everyday. Fun in the sun!! The only bad this is all the bugs like “no see ums”.

Congratulations on your move and your “mobile mindset” ultimate mobility/freedom and you still make money when you sleep. Does it get any better than this!

I feel pumped right now. Amits post is an inspiration of what is possible. Thx

    Great post!

I was just thinking about the mobile income last night thats why we just launched 15 sites, which are affiliate sites. I will be investing into them for the next year through link building. All organic search :), plus PPC on a few of them or i should say a lot once I get one campaign down.

I hope you enjoy Florida Amit! Sound like you got a nice setup.. congrats..

Traveling is great for opening your mind and changing your perspective on the world.

I did the same thing as Josh but settled down in Chile .. Now Im having to raise my affiliate income to another level as the US dollar is so weak down here..

Welcome to Miami Amit. We’re glad to have you and we’ll try to make sure this hurricane season is an uneventful one, lol. I’ve been here most of my life and love it. If I had no restrictions, I’d still want to keep Miami my home base, with long vacations in other countries in South America and Europe.

Well done Amit, although Miami has always struck me as a place that people go to die. I don’t live there though so what can I say ;) People seem to love it
