I’ve had a lot of my readers tell me : “Amit, this is great information, but I’m a wet behind the ears newbie, how do I get my ppc affiliate marketing business started??”
Here’s what my affiliate manager, Audrey, from Azoogle had to say-she’s a top notch affiliate manager who has years of experience working with affiliates at all levels:
“Here are some helpful tips to tell your newbies.
If you are just starting out in the industry you don’t want to select a vertical that is saturated or extremely competitive.
Health and Beauty has a great and wide demographic. You can target women AND men and the female demographic can range in age from 13 – 50+!
Just think about all the products that sell and appeal to women. Diet pills, lip plumper etc.
You want to make sure that the offer does not have TOO long of a form and TOO high of a cost to the visitor.
Do some research and just jump in!
You can also post questions to other people in the wickedfire.com forum or on digital point.”
This is excellent advice. Starting in an niche that’s not saturated and easy to target is definitely a great way to get your feet wet without getting overwhelmed. It will also give you an opportunity to have some quick success.
Even a little success in the beginning can be enough to raise your confidence enough so that you stick it out that first 6 months to a year before you really start seeing success.
If you’re a newbie the last thing you want to do is try to compete in a market like payday loans or mortgages. These are super competitive niches that will leave you with nothing but a bad taste in your mouth.
Also, if you’re not signed up with Azoogle, then I highly recommend that you do!
WOW! What a great affiliate network. Azoogle is the only affiliate network that has offered to make me a custom affiliate site for free.

This is exactly what i did. I started my campaign on Wednesday and have spent several hundred dollars with no returns so im not sure where to go from here.
I’ve been told my landing page is good and should convert but it’s just not. I suspect generalized/research keywords are to blame instead of specific ‘Buy X Product online’ But the Buy X Product online’ gets around 4 impressions a day or so says adwords.
Do you think i should give up this campaign and try a new one?
Amit,
I agree, Azoogle is really helpful for us nubes. My manager there has been really helpful. Everyone seems to really like Azoogle. I’ve never seen a negative word ever written about them.
Hope you’re having fun in Bermuda. You should study Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Brazil. I guarantee you won’t want to leave!
hi! im not totally new to affiliate marketing, however i want to venture more into PPC (FAIRLY NEW THERE). Im looking for a guide (ebook, membership site etc….) that will accelerate my learning in PPC. Any recommendations?
I’ve registered with AzoogleAds and waiting for their approval.
Which one do you think is better? AzoogleAds or COPEAC?
I’m also registered with CommissionJunction.com but there doesn’t seem to be any affiliate managers over there.
First I want to say I love you blog and you have been a huge inspiration. Thankfully I’m passionate about affiliate marketing and PPC. I barley want to sleep and when I do sleep there are PPC and affiliate related thoughts popping up in my dreams.
I started my first CPA campaign about a week ago on very tight budget and things have been going very well. I had some ups and downs ,but I’m staying focused through it all.
Right now I’m trying to expand my campaign and squeeze as much as I can out of it before moving on. I’ve also made sure that I track everything.
I know I’m going to be a super affiliate if I keep at it and reinvest my profits to compound my income.
Thank you again for all the insights and inspiration.
Much love,
Dave.
Your blog is truly inspiring and I find it to be a great resource of knowledge and very well written.
I’ve read what you have posted about centering in one niche and remembered reading somewhere else about spreading the odds, so if your niche doesn’t perform well you have other eggs in your basket.
I’ll be happy to read what you think about this idea and again thank you for all the knowledge.
BTW did you know that your name Amit means in Hebrew a colleague, friend, comrade, and fellow?
Hey Amit,
What do you think about the upcoming Fall-Holiday shopping season as a starting point for a newbie? I’m guessing the searches will be very high as well as the keyword bidding. Any advice for someone entering at this stage or do you think to stick with the plans outlined and ride it through? Thanks!
Hi Amit,
Is there any good reason that an Azoogle affiliate manager would every ask to see your landing page? I’ve recently started making decent monthly revenue from Azoogle and she’s asked a couple times to see my landing pages which I’m hesitant to show. What do you think and what do you do in these instances? Thanks.
So, I’m at the point where I’m doing $12k-$7k net with adsense and affiliate stuff and got a good 100k day job… how do you evaluate when it’s a good time to take the plunge?
BTW, I’m in Central Square if you ever wanna grab a beer or coffee..
Amit – You’re killin’ me!!!!! hehehehehehehe
I wish I wouldv’e read this blog about 30 days sooner. This paragraph was harsh:
“If you’re a newbie the last thing you want to do is try to compete in a market like payday loans or mortgages. These are super competitive niches that will leave you with nothing but a bad taste in your mouth.”
Because first – I’m a noob. Second – although my site does not focus on mortgages but reviews of online tools and websites for home buyers and sellers, is it really going to be tough going? I read somewhere before I started this site that the home market was a good market to get into? I’m willing to work hard at it though and stick it out. What advice can you offer?
