OK, one of my readers made an excellent point. It’s true, a LOT of affiliates are not only getting slapped recently, but flat out banned.
I’ve had my share of threats from Google and came REAL close to getting my Adwords account banned. I’ve had friends of mine who gave up on Adwords after they got their account banned (for bogus reasons).
The fear of Google slaps and potential bans is what motivated me to diversify my business outside of PPC. (Ever wonder why affiliates claiming to make a $100k/day profit are launching info products?)

Who have you heard is getting slapped, is it mainly flogs? rebills? or just thin affiliate sites in general?
Have you been slapped recently or have your methods (ie. building substantial sites around your offers) kept you safe from the recent slaps?
The way to avoid this and to Make more money! is to ignore the search engines!
Do Media buys people so much more traffic that you couldn’t even buy all inventory.
Key is learning how to structures IO’s with the right concessions and know exactly where your target prospect hang out and have top banners creatives in rotation and you can be making a killing of just 1 publisher.
So much I can talk about regarding media buying my best advice is to read the 100+ page e-book by Carlos and Lupe who have built 5Mil a month business doing strictly media buying and have clients paying them 25k each.

It’s not just flogs and rebills. I have friends who have 100% legit sites (with lots of unique content and everything) who have been slapped. Even people who are NOT affiliates are feeling the heat.

It is true that Google went through a major banning period. I have friends who were spending $15,000+/day who were banned. It’s sad but you live and learn!
I love it. Makes more room for the affiliates that actually know what their doing.
Because of the economy, they are kicking away the high end earners
