Hi,

Just curious how you guys go about finding certain niches. Do you make a long list of things you think are popular? e.g. shoes, chocolates, ringtones, etc, etc…

Then, use a keyword tool to gauge whether there is demand for the products on your shortlist? or…

Do you look at the high selling goods that affiliate companies like clickbank are promoting?

What do you think of sub-domains?

ie: shoes.domain.com or
flowers.domain.com
especially if you can get a short, nondescript domain name.

I have not jumped in full force yet but I have secured a 4 character .com domain name.

Your opinion please!

I think domain extensions has nothing to do with PPC, but for brand.

Those are some good points Amit. I have to admit, I’ve fallen victim to number one in the past. I used to have 1 general domain that I would just append with a keyword of the product I was promoting. For example, http://www.TodaysGreatDeals.com/Shoes or http://www.TodaysGreatDeals.com/Flowers.

I don’t own that domain, just an example.
