Not Just a Business, But a Way of Life! Part II

Before I talk about giving, I want to say that I NEVER meant my lifestyle posts to be link bait or a way to create buzz. There simple purpose is to show you what’s possible and attainable by being successful in affiliate marketing.

Having gone from rags to riches I’m PROUD of what I’ve accomplished and will continue to share what lifestyle this incredible business has created for me and my wife.

I’m grateful for all the blessing I have in my life, and I feel it’s my responsibility to share my blessings, my talents, and my riches. This blog and the information and inspiration I give out is a part of that.

What I failed to realized is that many people are brainwashing in to feeling guilty about wealth and success (they grew up hearing “Money is the root of all evil”, “We may be poor but at least we’re honest!”, etc). They think it’s wrong to talk about your success and your lifestyle. Their stomachs lurk when they read my lifestyle posts.

If your stomach lurches when you read my lifestyle posts then I’ve done my job. Because those feeling of guilt, that somehow there’s something wrong with being successful or telling others about it, are keeping you from living a truly prosperous life. Make no mistake, money alone won’t make you prosperous, there are lots of unhappy rich people out there, especially those who feel guilty about their wealth.

When I hear about other people’s successes, the money they’vc made, the lifestyle they live, the great businesses they’re created, I celebrate that!

There’s nothing wrong with being successful, or achieving great wealth. And there’s nothing wrong with showing other people what you’ve accomplished, especially if you’re trying to help them reach the same goal.

And it’s ashamed that not everyone is willing to do what it takes, or has the proper skills sets and mindset to create great wealth. I certainly didn’t for many years of my life!
So again I believe it’s my responsibility to help people develop those skills and the proper mindset, so they can achieve the success that I have or more. The ultimate success is helping other people achieve the same level of success you have.

I’ve helped a lot of people with their affiliate marketing businesses and will continue to do so. I personally help my good friend, Jeff Roth, get started in this business. He quit his job in 3 months. And I can tell you that meant MORE to me than my Rolex or my black card.

Giving is one of the best parts of being successful and rich. There’s nothing that gives me more joy. And YES I was giving back when I was poor too, but now I can give way more. :)

I give away over 10% of my income every months to causes I believe in, and to my church. I have donated to, and donate to the Make a Wish Foundation, the Red Cross ,among others. I’ve been doing this for years, even when I had very little money.

The more I give the more I realized the universal truth: the more you give the more blessing you attract in your life.

I believe I attracted and continue to attract great relationships, peace of mind, joy and happiness, and wealth into my life because I have given so much and continue to give.

Ultimately, living is all about giving.

So if you’re not already giving, and you want to start giving, I would suggest you not just give your money, but also give your time, and your talents. I do this through my blog, through my mastermind group, through giving talks, & through helping people personally.

Success is best measured by how many people are better off because you lived.

Hey Amit – you’re spot on with the giving –

I started giving 10% back before I really had much. I went 28 years making jack, and 3 years later I went from totally in debt with no real prospect of paying it off with a poor salary and no savings, to being debt free, with a great job in a field I love, and a nice little house to boot.

The trick was stepping out and giving first. My personal beliefs are that it’s all God’s anyways & it’s not like he needs our money, but he gives it to me not to heap up on myself but to be a blessing to others. Sure, I get to enjoy it, but I think he does test us to see what we do with what we have. When I’ve made the right decisions, that $ has come back many-fold. That’s not why I do it, but just wanted to give my personal experiences.

Many friends of mine say, “When I start making some money, then I’ll start giving to my church, favorite charity, etc.” However, it seems more likely that if a person won’t do something with a little, then they won’t do it with a lot. Look at what happens to lotto winners. Usually broke within a few years.

Great posts Amit – thanks for the uplifting advice & encouragement.

“NOTE: If you’re not a highly successful and a highly experience full time affiliate marketer yet, don’t bother applying.”

    amit,

what you have just said, is that you learnt how to sell and at the end of the day, that is how you make money. I am a failing entrepreneur at the moment, but that is the first and most important lesson i have learnt. If you don’t sell, you won’t make money.

And on showing off: the problem is that too many people falsely convince themselves that money is not important. well it is! and having it and telling people about it is ok, especially if you have WORKED for it.

  6. Justin Tsan says:

Hey Susan, your term failing entrepreneur creats a resounding effect on me. On the other hand, that’s what supposed to make us sronger, isn’t true that success comes from daring to fail? I believe if we strive and keep on trying, success come our ways. P.S.hopefully we meet people to guide us on our way as well.
