When my wife and I were in the jewelry store at our hotel in Bermuda, an amazing watch caught my eye. It was the elusive and rare Rolex Submariner with a green bezel.
I had to get it, so I called Amex, told them i was going to buy a Rolex, and Shilpi and I went to the jewelry shop the next day and bought it!
Check it out…
This watch is EXTREMELY difficult to get, it’s the 50th anniversary addition Rolex Submariner watch. There are waiting lines for this watch!
Rolex submariner is possibly one of the coolest watches ever made. It can go underwater up to a depth of a 1000 ft., it’s showed up in 11 James Bond movies. It’s been in arctic expeditions where it has withstood -45 degrees Celsius.
When I was riding on the moped, zooming through the narrow roads of Bermuda, rocks on one side, ocean on the other, with my wife holding on, Rolex Submariner on my wrist and black card in my pocket…I felt like James Bond!
WHAT A LIFE!

kinda nerdy bro, not too classy.
Akshay, how is a Rolex not classy ??
Looks cool to me.
Cartier is not Rolls-Royce. Cartier is just a high-end Mercedes. The Rolls-Royce/Bentleys of watches are Lange and Sohne, Vacheron, Patek, etc,……and many more. These companies make watches more expensive than the most expensive Rolls Royce.
Just so you know next time you wont have to call amex for an 8K purchase if its a black card. Thats the advantage to the black well that and the weight of the card. Both physical and literal.
@Ayush Pant
Only the new movies feature omegas. Most of the old movies feature Rolex’s.
I received a rather large inheritance in May of 2009. I had owned a Rolex Submariner from 1990 to 1994 that I had to sell for college money, and I eventually decided to buy another. I went to Carlyle & Co. in Nashville at the Green Hills Mall to look at an IWC watch. Carlyle & Co. didn’t sell IWC, they were distributors of Rolex watches, and they had a 50th Anniversary edition of the Submariner (with the green bezel). Before I purchased it, I had no idea that there were people lined up to buy one: there apparently wasn’t a line behind the one I bought at Carlyle & Co. The Submariner I bought in 1990 was about $5200.00, and the one I bought in September of 2009 was approximately $6100.00. I bought it because I had experienced one before, and it functioned incredibly well. I bought it because I figured Rolex was the watch of watches. I figure they’re about $4000.00 too much, but in no way would buying one interfere with my financial situation in a bad way. Upon buying the 50th Anniversary edition, I did a little research on Rolex owners, and people from Brad Pitt to Eric Clapton, to Dwight D. Eisenhower to Winston Churchill have adored them as well. Bottom line is money. If you’re a watch freak, and have the money, buy one. If you are not a watch freak, and you cannot afford one, forget about them.
how much ?
congrats
I buy it from you.
Thank you Akshay and Kareem. Rolex is bling bling. Just that. Nothing to do with class. A classy watch is A. Lange & Sohne, Jaccque Droz and the like. Class is NOT about showing. Rolex is EVERYTHING to do with showing.
Would the newer Ceramic bezel submariner in Green also be that sought after??
