If you’re following me on twitter then you already know that I’m helping Jeremy with the Black Ink Project. In fact Jeremy has been gracious enough to let me do 2 modules: “Pay Per Click Mastery” and “Outsourcing - The Key to Growth and Sustainability.”

Hi Amit, i have one question??, i have in my power a PPC Classroom course from Jeremy Palmer, i’m having a free trial of the course, ihave to decide if i want to keep it or not and i want to know what’s the difference between Jeremy Palmer’s PPC Classroom course which cost $497, and this FREE Affiliate Marketing course which is also from Jeremy. I’m asking you this because if the content of this Affiliate Marketing course will be the same or very similar to the PPC Classroom course, then i won’t buy the $497 course. So please, can you tell me more about the black ink project?? Thanks.

PPC Classroom is focused on ppc strategies, while the free course give a more general overview of affiliate marketing - touching on a little bit of everything.
PPC Classroom will compliment the free course.

Jeremy is a very generous and genuine guy! He is really different from all the crapbank Gurus. He is the only “Guru” I ever started trusting and his book really helped me get started!
Sigh… nice. Read his page. Was signing up. Asks for a phone number. Absolutely no way do I give out my phone. Too bad, sounds interesting. But when your only phone is your mobile I’m not opening myself to the number being used by anyone else (and I can’t think of a reason my number would be needed). Oh well.

The phone number is 100% optional. I added the field as a negative qualifier to discourage non-committal sign-ups. Probably not the best way to do it, but I don’t want people signing up just because it’s free. It’s been demonstrated that if you want more qualified leads you add more fields to your lead form. I even considered requesting address info to weed out even more people. I thought the current form was a good balance.
Rest assured I have no telemarketing plans, and your information is 100% safe and will not be resold/shared with anybody.
Lead form length reduces signup rate… whether that’s necessarily more qualified is dependent on what you ask… it’s perfectly possible to ask a lot of questions, reduce your signup rate but, because the questions don’t bear on the conversion criteria, the signups aren’t more qualified. Especially if the fields are optional
Here’s the thing - my phone is my mobile. I never give it out since the very last thing I want is telemarketing on it. So, yes, you got me to click away by asking for it - for a reason that has nothing to do with my willingness to follow the seminar.

I think Jeremy rocks and all, but enough already with the fake scarcity
Bandwidth costs next to nothing and we’re on the Internet, folks. There is marginal incremental cost to have 1000, 3,000, or 10,000 people on a course (unless you’re talking about additional customer service issues).
The scarcity was and is very real. First, you’ll note that I put a cap of 1,000 on the original registration. This was due to the fact that the webinar solution we were using had that limit. In addition to that, I was going to be hosting all the 100mb + files on my own site, which as you know would cost me a fortune in bandwidth (20-100mb sessions x 1,000 downloads (min) = 2 terabytes of bandwidth - at least).
The new WebEx platform we’re running does have a cap of 3,000. You’ll note WebEx is furnishing a free 800 number for each session, which costs WebEx a lot of money. Even with a discounted toll-free rate that’s a huge investment.
It’s easy to think of everything being free, but bandwidth and toll free numbers cost money. Somebody has to pay the bill - just be glad it’s not you, and enjoy the free course

btw, I think the phone number was a good idea and an address would be even better. w/ all this scarcity you only want the most-qualified people… being the ones that will actually make use of the info you’re giving away.

I no longer sell info products. I’ve decided to offer all content on QYDJ for free.
I had a similar inquiry on my blog a few weeks back. This was my reply:
“Times change and markets evolve. For example, Yahoo use to charge $30/year for 25mb of e-mail space, now they give you 2gb free. I’m just staying ahead of the curve.”
It’s sounds like his doing the same thing with this black ink project. He initially charged $497 for it, renamed it and now it’s free.
I wanted to make three clarifying points:
1 - I’m no longer involved with PPC Classroom. It’s now in the hands of Affiliate Classroom.
2 - Take a look at the outline for the Black Ink Project, it’s nothing like PPC Classroom.
3 - A month after launching PPC Classroom I decided I no longer wanted to be in the business of selling content.
Nobody does anything for free so what is Jeremy expecting in return?
Rather than sell my own info products, I want to build QYDJ into a premier affiliate education site and community. True to my affiliate nature, I would rather promote other peoples products than sell my own.
The goal is to build incredible value first, then attract a high-quality audience, and worry about monetization later.
