Is Your Business Dependent on Big-G?

In light of banks going under left and right AND in light of my last post, I let me ask you this question :

Is your income dependent on Google Adwords?

Because if it is, you need to start thinking about how you can diversify your income ASAP.

In general, it’s dangerous to have your income all coming from ONE source. If that one source is Google, you’re flat out playing with fire.

If you’re just doing ppc affiliate marketing then the best way to diversify is to transfer your campaigns to Yahoo and MSN ASAP. If you’ve been waiting for the right time, well, the right time is NOW.

I spend a LOT of money on Yahoo and MSN. Only trouble is that Google still has most of the traffic, so without Google you would still take a big hit, but you’d be okay. I know super affiliates who do well over a million a year in revenue just from Yahoo and MSN.

No doubt in the short running, I believe ppc affiliate marketing is the BEST way to make money.

In the long run, however, you want to think about how you can create a more solid stable income that is NOT dependent on the whims of a merciless mega corporation like Google.

In this post I discuss a bunch of long term strategies.

Now if you’re just a newbie, just focus on building a full time income with ppc and affiliate marketing. But if you’re a full time affiliate it’s time to start thinking long term.

For those of you who are wondering, YES, my Google account is active. However, I’m now using completely seperate accounts for my new affiliate campaign that I’m launching – just to be on the safe side. Of course, I’ll have to rebuild my account history, but that’s a small price to pay for piece of mind.

Is it possible to have two accounts? How did you set up your new account?

    Hi Amit,

Don’t be sure about your “multi account strategy”. Google is looking from time to time which accounts have the same billing data and then they will see that you are spreading your activies through different adword accounts. – They have the same often done with adsense accounts to find spammers.

Great to see HUGE companies voicing concern over the Google/Yahoo merger.

Proctor & Gamble and GM have told the Justice Dept that it’s a very bad idea to allow Google to monopolize the Industry.

Yes, we need to build long term businesses with authority sites but unfortunately we are trying to get those to rank well at Google!

How does one get more than one account at Google?

    PS

anyone notice they have yet to roll out the First Page bids?

The Google – Yahoo merger is something that scares me a lot. Imagine that it could possible mean that u would only need to use Google to make some profit from search engines online after this merger. The whole landscape could change. I really really hope this will not happen and Yahoo will be independent ( not even a MSN – Yahoo merger ). Google and Yahoo have different policies on some areas of PPC. How would they apply it in the case of the merger , i ask myself ? Also what would happen to sites using the same display URL . In our case the direct linking method. I hope i am wrong but i do not see anything good out of this merger.

Houston got slapped hard by Ike and 90% of city is without power… people in distraught and waiting 2 hours in long lines for gas.

People are are starving because of no food available at grocery stores and fast food place because of lost power.

The point of this lesson is to take this lesson seriously and prepare for the future storms.

If you have super affiliates making millions on Yahoo and MSN alone, why dont they use Google also?

Amir Khan: lol that Epic wealth page is really convincing.
