Having a Blast at the Affiliate Summit, Part I

I’m writing from my room at the Miami Intercontinental Hotel where the Affiliate Summit was held. My wife and I got a room upgrade. Our room overlooks the beautiful biscayne bay.

My wife and I got there Friday night, giving us two days to explore Miami. We had dinner with Doug and Vanessa (good friend/super affiliate and his wife), who had also arrived early, at the Indigo restaurant inside of the Intercontinental Hotel.

Wow! Its was some of the best Seafood Shilpi (my wife) and I had ever had. :)

The next day we all went to the local zoo where we had a chance to feed macaws and see a ligar (a male lion crossed with a female tiger). Check it out…

Later that evening Tom (my business partner), Paul (his brother in-law), and Jeff (friend and super affiliate) arrived. We had dinner again at the indigo!

On Sunday we headed to the pre-conference AbestWeb/Shareasale Party in South Shore.

At the party Felix suggested that we go next door to the Evolution restaurant in the Ritz Carlton South Beach.

Now this restaurant was swanky with a capital ‘S’. Felix was actually concerned that they would kick us out since most of us were wearing T-shirts, shorts, and flip flops! I told Felix not to worry, if they threatened to kick us out, I would pull out my black card. ;)

If you want to succeed at affiliate marketing, it necessary to think and act outside of the box. Be bold. I challenge YOU to go to a high class restaurant with T-shirts, shorts, and flip flops.

We all had an incredible time at Evolution, not only was the food incredible, we were laughing and cutting up the whole time! Let’s just put it this way, the waiters were NOT laughing. LOL

You see a lot of people think affiliate marketing or being a super affiliate is just about driving a lot of sales or generating a lot of leads.

It’s not.

This business is about relationships. Most of the people in the photo above are a part of my personal mastermind group. Not only are they great friends, but I’ve learned a tremendous amount from them. It’s really an honor to be in the association of such great people.

I’ve made lots of new friends at this Affiliate Summit, and I look forward to learning from them and sharing my knowledge with them.

If you’ve never been to the Affiliate Summit, or any other affiliate marketing related conference, I STRONGLY encourage you to attend the next one. Start networking, make some new friends, start a mastermind with other affiliates like yourself.

Stay tuned for the next post, I’ll talk about what actually happened at the Affiliate Summit, my talk, some really awesome people I met, and what I learned.
