Honestly, I really appreciated Labor Day back when I worked a job. I mean really, it was one less day working for the man.
Now I REALLY appreciate the fact that labor day no longer applies to me.
Why’s that?
Because I no longer exchange hours for dollars, which is my definite of labor.
Yes I put in work, and at times a lot of work building and optimizing my campaigns. But here’s the thing I ONLY have to do it over a short period of time and I have a campaign that will generated income for me for YEARS.
I’m not trading hours for dollars; I don’t get paid for the amount of hours I put in but rather for the results that I produce. Is there more risk in that? Yes of course, because there’s no guarantee, you can put in hours of work and get paid nothing.
My point is to illustrate the different in mindset between an employee and a super affiliate (call it a business owner if you like).
A super affiliate is willing to take a risk with NO guarantee of any type of returns. They’re willing to go out there and do thing that most people are too scared to do.
On the other hand an employee is looking to avoid risk whenever possible. Above all they want to hide behind the illusion of security. The fact is there’s no security in a job, the only security is in your ability to produce results, no matter what your profession or how you make money.
Learn how to consistently produce results as an affiliate marketer (or a business owner in general) and you will not only have real security, you’ll also have an amazing income and lifestyle to go with it.
Sure you’ll still have ups and downs in your affiliate business. But just as quickly as your top campaigns take a tumble, you can launch new campaigns and wipe out your losses.
Super affiliates also take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for their actions. They know that they are in total control of their financial future, and are not depending on : the economy, destiny, their parents, the government, or anything else. They know it’s up to them to create their future.
So you want to be a super affiliate and make more money in a month than you make a year in your job? Then you’d better:
- Give up the illusion of job security, and start working towards REAL security by learning how to build profitable affiliate campaigns consistently.
- Stop making excuses and start taking full responsibility for all your actions and the results that they are creating. If you don’t like the results you’ve created in your life up to this point, you have the power to change those results.
- Be willing to work, and work hard with the possibility of no results to show for your efforts. As long as you’re conditioned to exchange time for money (ie a job) you’ll struggle at affiliate marketing.

Great advice. Yeah, i fully agree and it’s extremely rewarding for a successful affiliate marketer compared to an employee.
Another one of those general posts. But I enjoy reading them. Maybe to someone who is looking for specific answers may not be helpful but still they are motivational and good to read.

Gee
It’s true, I think the hardest thing is making that inital jump. Because I’m starting out I cannot leave that guaranteed wage (well more secure) that allows me to pay my bills each month.
On the other hand I end up working 70-80+ hours a week to get my affiliate campaigns up and running which I don’t mind.
My first success came from the last 20 days of August which saw about $400 profit which is a start. I just need to try and boost the performance of the 2 campaigns I have running.
We’ve been in affiliate marketing since 1997, but specialize in SEO. 100% profit, but we always wondered about the heavy-hitting PPC guys.
After stumbling on your site a couple weeks ago, we were inspired to attack our currently successful SEO campaigns via PPC. Next, we’ll venture into CPA PPC campaigns.
Thanks for your non-blowhard approach to discussing SEM.
I didn’t appreciate yesterday as much either and man it’s nice… Gotta love setting your own hours.
I also bought the Rich Dad books and I completely agree with this sentiment here.
On a more general note your blog is really helpful. Thank you.

I love these two facts of life coming from your post. If you really want to succeed, you have to be dedicated, committed and a hard worker to achieve success. In businesses like this one, time is of essence. You have to know that you just can’t sit in front of the monitor for 2 hours a day and expect great results especially if you are a beginner.
