Do My Lifestlye Posts Piss You Off?
August 27th, 2007 by
Amit
I know some of you are reading my lifestyle posts and getting angry.
I know how you feel.
I was angry and frustrated for a long time. I saw other people who were successful, had time and money, and everything, it seemed! I wanted badly to be successful too, and of course have the incredible lifestyle that went with it.
The problem was I was completely wrapped up in fear and doubt. I had to learn not to be so attached, I had to learn to just let go and get excited about the journey.
You see, success is a journey and not a destination.
I recently had lunch with a good friend of mine and fellow super affiliate, Jeff Roth. We’ve been friends for years, and in business together in the past. We failed for years, and surprisingly enough we had our big successes around the same time.
I love just talking to Jeff about all the crap we went through, all the years we failed, all the crazy stories! It was exciting, because even though we couldn’t see the results, we know we were doing what 99% of people were unwilling to do. We knew if we kept doing it we would live like 99% can only dream of living.
And NOW WE DO!
Get excited about the journey, and stop worrying about the results.
If you ever studied Hindu philosophy, you understand that the key to success is taking action without being attached to the results.
This is easier said than done.
Set your goals, write out a game plan, and then execute your game plan and forget the goals.
Enjoy everyday, know that even if your next campaign fails that you’re that much closer to finding a winner. Know that with every campaign that fails you’ve learned something that will help you succeed in the future.
Every failure is a stepping stone to success, if you learn from it.

Ok so I guess you’ve been reading the thread about you on WickedFire.com right?
Yeah I did read it too. But your lifestyle posts don’t piss me off. It may piss off those who are jealous of you and can’t make it in affiliate marketing. I rather take it as an inspiration to where I’m headed. And I’m busting my balls big time to make it.
Keep bragging about your lifestyle, it’s your blog after all! Fuck the rest!
Your presentation at Affiliate Summit 2007 was dead on by the way!
yes, it piss me off & btb i am not jealous…i make much much more than you (>million/month)
See a sample of how much i make
http://flickr.com/photos/51676315@N00/522237942/
Haha yeah right Big…
Proof?
Why would a guy who make over a million a month waste his time on such blogs as superaffiliatemindset.com?
Couldn’t you post it (your AdSense check picture) on one of your own websites or blog?
I am a so called “super affiliate” myself and I am very disappointed at the decline in quality on this blog. It has become more of a bragging blog than anything.
>> Couldn’t you post it (your AdSense check picture) on one of your own websites or blog?
Most real high rollers want to stay annonymous…Only guys in the middle income range (50-300k/month) range want to brag
>> Why would a guy who make over a million a month waste his time on such blogs as superaffiliatemindset.com?
beacuse i am bored & dont have anything to do really!
Send me a blank check then
Amit,
Your lifestyle posts make you come across as shallow and immature. You may be a super affiliate, but you don’t strike me as a thoughtful or caring human being. If you printed out your Bermuda posts and gave them to your wife’s friends, I’m sure that they would think less of you. Most people eventually learn that life is about giving not getting.
Why don’t you post about all the crap you went through and your crazy stories? I’d be very interested in reading about that and how you overcame the challenges.
I don’t mind the lifestyle posts as long as it’s in moderation with your other content.
They don’t piss me off. I find inspiration in them. They keep me motivated.
the only reason should be pissed off is that they don’t get off their butts and get to work.
I bet mr big may have time off right now BUT I am sure he worked his ass off to get to where he is.
Most people are not willing to pay the price to success…. so screw them and post bigger checks.
how about some advice mr big?
share the wisdom
love that check!
Not at all! Your posts inspire me to make the transition from corporate slave to entrepreneur. Being able to take vacations to places like Bermuda is exactly the type of financial freedom I dream of.
Cheers!
Kat
Amit, Absoultely not. Your blog is the best affiliate blog on the web in my opinion. Btw, if I were you I’d delete posts 1 - 11 except 9 and 10. Those comments really distract from the point you are making. That guy Big is totally faking it. Anyne can print that off on their printer. Check the other photos he has posted. They are all pulled straight from Google Image search. Fakers suck.
Well I’m glad i posted the link to wickedfire. Your blog don’t piss me off at all I look forward to reading your blog. I’m no super Affiliate but someday soon and I to will share my lifestyle. However, where I came from would be more important:)
Hello Amit,
Don’t worry about the people who get pissed. It’s just natural. I too get pissed but then again I see a bright future!!! I get so much motivation to continue on with the “business”. Thanks dude!
Can you please let me know what strategy I can use when I am in school? I would like to keep on learning new things and start new campaigns and continue my content sites going while in school. Can you give me any tips on having a successful business along with school? Thanks!
School being college.
Amit,
Thank you for your blog, this is the best one i’ve read so far, I happened just too fluke into it by reading a recommendation by Allan Gardyne about it. I have found more practical info in this blog than in most of the ebooks and websites ive read. I’ve been searching just for this. I thank you for the inspiration, you’re a prime example that it can be done.
I realized, after multiple failures, that its just part of the process. A broken heart from trying with all your might and failing is just what everyone goes through who has ever wanted to do anything of importance to their lives and the lives of others. I have also come to understand that I don’t just pour my heart into this simply for myself, but also for my poor family and my future family members. Its kinda sappy I know, but its sincere. I will succeed regardless of the difficulty and the heart breaking failures, its inevitable because Im practicing the fundamentals that are necessary for long term success. No detective programs for me, just learn, fail, learn, fail, and inevitably succeed.
Thank you Amit, its finally good to read someone who understands.
Warm regards,
The True King Carlos
Is this blog the next DP forum. You come here for some insight and get a pissing contest. In total agrrement with Brent. Amit, I can’t believe you intended your blog to be this. You write great, but the comment area is attracting flies.
Signed
No one special
Ok sorry, I shouldn’t have responded to Big in the first place.
Anyway, initially I was only saying the lifestyle posts didn’t bother me.
Amit,
You should turn off the comments. You obviously can’t take criticism and your solution to your thin skin problem is to delete perfectly reasonable comments that your fragile ego can’t deal with. You’re still the sad boy sitting in his cubicle mad at the world. The watch on your wrist and card in your pocket can’t protect you from the emptiness of your soul. I pity you and the psychophants who support you.
>> fake
Brent, i have more experience in internet marketing than most AM bloggers including shoemoney or amit…BTB if you have some commonsense you would check the photo properties to see if its fake or not!.
Micheal: Your comments say more about yourself than anyone else.
Just so you should know, I did not delete your comments, I’m on vacation and just now had a chance to approve them.
You’re a very tortured soul. I wish you the best of success, honestly, and hope you will overcome your anger.
Stephane: Right on man! It is my blog, and I will write about any topic I want.
I’ve been writing a lot of lifestyle posts lately since I’m basically on vacation this whole month.
Stay tuned for lots of meaty posts about affiliate marketing in Sept.
Big:
Congrats on your success. I still have much to learn about affiliate marketing to reach your level, and hope to be there in the near future.
Kudos!
I clearly see the problem here. Some people like myself are more straight forward - cut the crap kind of people.
May be you should consider having a separate blog for life style posts linking to superaffiliatemindset.
Whoever, wants to read your life style posts can go there, and professional posts stay here.
I understand that people tend to use blog as a diary, but here you have too many people looking for quality content rather than life style posts which are good too in their own way.
But, you might start losing your core audience. At the same time, there are people who love to read life style posts. So, having two separate entities solves the issues.
Amit,
Great post, I sometimes enjoy these posts more… MOTIVATION
Later
High self-esteem people wouldn’t get pissed off by posts that are intended to inspire others.
That’s what I get out of it… inspiration. It’s the only affiliate marketing blog that I read.
If you need more help then chances are the only help you need is from yourself. Start taking the steps necessary to start getting success.
I’ve always looked at Amit’s position as an attainable one, and one that I can get to.
The way you perceive little topics like this determines the amount of success you can achieve throughout your life. It’s the pattern of thinking every successful entrepreneur has compared to the ones who are unsuccessful.
If you make that little tweak and view things like Amit’s Lifestyle discussion as POSITIVE, I’m sure you’ll get a lot more out of it.
Cheers.
Your blog is excellent, I enjoy reading the lifestyle posts, dont pay any attention to the haters.
Thanks for keeping it real.
The blog and the knowledge that all this work will
have its reward. Blog away.
LOL @ the stir-up you caused at Wickedfire. Such haters. Good job!
I think seeing other people’s success is very motivating. It shows us the opportunity that we all have. It also, in a small way, lets us into your personal life so we have the opportunity to get to know you on a more personal level.
I for one appreciate this blog and I highly looking forward to your “meaty affiliate marketing posts” in September.
I’d really like to know what it was that you did to get you over the hump (from making no money to making good money) that you displayed in your Affiliate Summit presentation. What were your “ah ha” moments and how did you overcome your challenges?
I wish you continued success and hopefully you’ll continue to help others along the way.
Enjoy your success, you’ve earned it!
John
Amit,
I love your posts, which I subscribe to by email. I’ve learned more important stuff about AM from you than from the hundreds of dollars of overhyped ebooks I’ve bought. I save nearly all of them as “required study” for getting to super-affiliate level. Please post more! The lifestyle posts don’t get saved, for obvious reasons, but they do make a good point about what life is like where I’m heading.
Mr Big, if you have time on your hands and would like to share the way Amit is sharing, we’d love it.
thanks,
An Eager and Attentive Student
If I dont read success stories I would never know what is possible. Just recently found your blog but I say “keep on keeping on”
Amit, with PPC you just have to find the right niches to make more than million dollar per month…I agree with one thing from your posts, its better to be big in 4-5 areas than to be a small fish in 20-30 industries.
I love the blog and find it very inspiring! Now where can someone get more good info on niche areas and how to find a good niche? If someone could make a good recommendation, I would appreciate it.
Hi All,
Thanks for all the great comments! My main goal with the lifestyle posts is to show what is possible with affiliate marketing and NOT to brag.
And if you don’t like my lifestyle posts-that’s okay with me-just ignore them. But stay tuned, I’m planning a real life case study of a market I just recently entered in Sept
Amit, just keep things the same. We love it.
Micheal is in the 80-20 group, I believe. Spend 80%
of the time reading forums and blogs, 20% maybe working.
Great stuff as usual, I got to go work on some sites before bed, Later:)
Amit,
I was actually laughing when I made the last post. Boys on scooters in Bermuda don’t have the ability to anger me. The comments on wickedfire are 90% against you. In this case, the wisdom of the crowd is dead on.
By the way, what people are posting about you wife is totally over the line and completely disrespectful. You have my sympathy on that one.
I still think you’re a twit, but I’ll probably keep reading your blog. Maybe you could reinvent yourself as the humble blogger?
Michael: If you’re not interested in posts about anything other than affiliate marketing then get lost! Life is much more than just money and business. Amit (the owner of this blog) has his life too…and he’s sharing all the real info here for free…I bet if any real super affiliates do that…except for those self-proclaimed Gurus…
BTW I am NOT the owner of this blog…just a loyal reader!
They don’t really piss me off or anything - but I can see how some people might get a bit irritated.
Though rather than boasting about your bling, I’d love to see you start boasting about your donations to charity.
Amit,
You seem to be a man of good intentions and it also seems obvious to me that your posts are meant as motivators and those who dont ALLOW others to offend them understand this. Thank you for sharing kind sir.
Warm regards,
The True King Carlos
Micheal,
Go back to “the crowd” at the forums and eat the bread crumbs thrown your way.
“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” Anthony Robbins
Happy 20% Micheal
Stephane,
Looks like I’m having the pissing contest now. Sorry.
Amit,
If you posted a pic of your car, and it was a Ford Taurus, some would call you “down to earth” and “someone they can relate to.” Others would say “if you’re so rich, why are you driving a Taurus?”
If you were to post a pic of a Ferrari or Lamborghini parked in your driveway some would immediately call you a braggart, a jerk, an a-hole, etc.
No matter what you do, someone will complain.
The people who are bothered by your lifestyle posts are insecure and dealing with feelings of inadequacy. Ignore them….
Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful…
Your lifestyle post is good and it is very inspirational, it did not piss me off.
THe post only piss off some “jeolous loser”
so ignore all the “jeolous loser” from wickedfire and keep on your nice work
Would you guys please stop going back and forth about his post!! It is Amit’s Blog and he can write what he likes. Now, Does anyone know what would be the best step by step book that I could get on affiliate marketing? I am a NEWBIE and I want to start marketing. PLEASE ANSWER…I believe there is alot of knowledge here and I want to learn.
Thanks so much
Rachelle, I wish AM was as easy as finding a step-by-step book on the subject but there’s no such thing. Go out and read, read, read! No one will give you a simple step-by-step guide as everyone develop there own strategies.
Find an affiliate program about a product or service you know about and find a way to promote it through a website, PPC, etc. Do a search on Google on that particular product / service and look at what the big guys do and do it better than they did.
You can read GoogleCash although it’s a bit outdated. Perry Marshall’s ebook on AdWords is a good read also.
Now this place is not a forum, it’s a blog where we’re supposed to comment on the current post.
Rachelle,
Check out Jeff Palmer’s “High Performance Affiliate Marketing”
Excellant stuff!!
Rachelle,
I agree with Ron, get Jeremy Palmer’s ebook. QuitYourDayJob.com is where you will find it.
Amit,
Great blog I look forward to encouraging comments
But one question, what the hell do you sell? except mugs
and teddy bears

still struggling w/adsense
Thanks for all of the input..I’ve read so much that it must mean that it is time to do. And then I will continue to learn by trial and error. That’s what I like about this blog and that is what it seems that Amit is trying to get people to do. I’m going for it all the way!!! Thanks again and I’ll continue to check in.
Must be a lot of affiliates with time on their hands to keep posting in this thread…
Why not spend the time to improve your campaigns or take a nice nap?
Hi Amit,
I just started in Affiliate Marketing a month or so ago. I love your blog. I like that you value self-improvement and positive attitude. Your Bermuda posts are inspiring. Great to know people really can be successful at this stuff!
Well, the thing is, people will find out sooner or later what you do! At lease all the affiliate managers and the network know exactly what you do. And will copy your business mode - if you keep on bragging.
I don’t even know how to respond to that last
comment from frank.
Haha… neither did I. I wanted to though…
Frank:
Your AM and network doesn’t need to read your blog to copy your campaigns, they just look at your earnings.
Repeating your results by copying your campaigns is just like saying you can drive like Schumacher by watching his tapes a bunch of times.
Fortunately, there’s a whole lot more than just putting a bunch of words on a landing page and managing your bid prices…
Hey Amit, I actually love your lifestyle posts because they show me where i want to get and that I have a lot more work to do. Also, I think that people like it when bloggers write something about their personal life. That makes them seem like their just another guy and that anyone can achieve their success with a lot of hard work, testing and learning.
