Who has not ended up at a site that looks informative, but after a few minutes of clicking you realize the site has lots of completely unoriginal content and you leave annoyed with the time you just wasted? Searchers are beginning to realize that many sites are essentially infomercials. They are also getting better at figuring out which sites are real content sites and which are not. Real content is produced by publishers who utilize editors and writers much like print publications. In the past, the best affiliates were superb marketers. In the future the best affiliates will be publishers. My two cents... Of course ppc is good but having an authority site well ranked in google is free advertising to make money with affiliate programs. :) So imagine how much you can make money with an authority site and ppc. The best way for existing PPC super affiliates to surrvive is to use their current PPC cashflow to create a defensible web property. I am reminded of the Apple slogan "Think Different". Look at Shoemoney and his AuctionAds success. Sure, he does PPC. But he certainly does a whole lot more too that he barely talks about or might mention in some offhand way. When he started talking about ringtones, look at what happened to that market. He's just one very visible example. I'm sure there are lots of other people who don't blog at all that are quietly making a fortune in some crazy untapped niche that no one ever bothers to think about. Great post as usual.
