Christmas Season is Here…Oh Yeah!

December 16th, 2007 by Amit

I have to admit, Christmas time is my FAVORITE time of the year. I love the opportunity to spend more time with family, to travel, and all that.

In fact my wife and I are going to India this Christmas to visit relatives and vacation. :)

Now as a super affiliate I REALLY LOVE Christmas, because December is by far my best month in terms of sales and profits.

Up to around Dec 14th my sales overall completely sucked this month, I thought to myself : “What’s going on??”

Then today I almost fell out of my chair when I checked my Dec 15th sales stats for just one of my affiliate accounts. Check it out:

big-sales-day2.jpg big-sales-day1.jpg

$14,816 in sales in ONE DAY

I ended up netting over $10k profit, in ONE DAY!

UNREAL!

For all you job people out there, how’s that for a year end Christmas bonus? LOL

What’s nuts is that this is ONLY the beginning, between Dec 20-Jan 1st is really the big time to cash in, when conversions and traffic in a lot of online markets go through the roof!

When you take the time to really build an affiliate campaign, I mean build it solid, with a real site, dozens of targeted landing pages, a massive keyword list, the rewards just keep coming in!

This campaign, that made almost $15k in one day - you know what, I spend a short but intense period of time launching and optimizing it.

Now it’s on virtual autopilot, bring in massive profits, month, after month, after month!

I LOVE THIS BUSINESS! :)

Dec 16 thru 18 to the best of my knowledge is the drop dead dates on shipping and handling at the regular mail price. Then highier prices kick in and perhaps people who shop online freak. Just a guess, I really have no idea. But Amit, congrates to you.

Congrats on the Christmas bonus Amit! That’s one helluva day indeed.

As mostly an info product affiliate I drop most my efforts during this time of year to focus on tangible products. The increase in revenue during this time of year is astronomical that it just can’t be ignored. There are more people online and in a buying mood than at any other time of the year. You’d be nuts to ignore this fact.

You should study your stats to see the reason for the huge spike. Maybe you can duplicate it again with some careful planning.

    Amit,

Just out of curiosity and not revealing your market, was it a single product site, multi product site, service, subscription, electronic download, etc…

The reason I ask is because I have this hallucination that only “gift” items sell well during this week. Do you find this to be true?

    Amit,

Im new to affiliate marketing and I have a question for you. Its almost common sense that sales and profits will be higher than average in December because of the Holiday season, but do you find that sales are LOWER than average come January/February?

The reason I ask is that There is just not enough time for me to really get going in affiliate marking before christmas (and i mean at a large scale), and im afraid that below averages sales are going to kill my moral come January.

    any insight?

I’m sure there are many products in that price range.
I was more curious about the ROI. At 26 dollars gross
and maybe 75% profit. Even with those numbers, that campaign had
    to be pretty awesome.

    Amit,

You mentioned that you were getting rocked by google when starting a campaign on a fairly new acct. Have you noticed similar behavior when using a NEW url/domain on your mainstay account?

I was trying a Perry Marshall tip: using different url’s to test conversions for similar ads…
