If you haven’t heard already affiliates with review sites are getting slapped to oblivion. Even review sites that have substantial unique content.

(Guess Big G finally figured out all these review sites are bogus! LOL)

Google is SPECIFICALLY targeting affiliates. In fact, affiliates who have cloaked their links with php redirects (or some other method) have avoided this slap altogether. (BIG tip there)

The idea behind themewars is pretty cool. It’s kinda like 99designs.com with a twist.

Here’s the idea…

1. If you’re a designer you can submit a design to themewars
2. People vote on your design, and if your design wins then you get featured in the Theme Store and you get a % of get sale.

The fact is having a professional looking theme for your affiliate site (let’s not forget unique value added content as well) will greatly reduce your chances of getting slapped by Google and pass the muster of some pin head manual reviewer.
