Beware of Simple System for Affiliate Profits

July 30th, 2008 by Amit

There’s a lot of products on the market promising a push button simple system to building a profitable ppc affiliate campaign. These products usually consist of a software program that do most of the work and a simple step by step tutorial to walk you through how to use the system.

Now I’m not saying that these program don’t work, in fact, for the point of our discuss lets assume that these programs do work.

Let’s take a deeper look at this: do you think any simple push button system for making online will last? If there’s a 1000 affiliate using the same system do you think it will effect your profit margins?

Moreover, how easy do you think it will be for someone to copy everything you’ve done if it’s all based on simple system anyone can go out and purchase? Do you have any real competitive advantage.

These types of easy money affiliate products are designed for newbie opportunity seekers who are looking to make a quick buck. I don’t know a single super affiliate who uses these programs.

What’s your goal here? To build a long term sustainable business or make a fast buck?

A long term sustainable affiliate business is based on a unique strategy that YOU develop, something that cannot be easily ripped off. Yeah, some dummy may be able to rip off your landing page and even some of your keywords. But any ppc super affiliate who’s worth their salt knows there’s WAY more to building a successful affiliate campaign then landing pages and keywords.

The entire focus on my affiliate business is to, develop strategies, and focus on markets, that will yield long term profits. This is why I’m VERY selective as to what offers I promote, and I’m continually developing was to improve my processes for building and optimizing affiliate campaigns.

I don’t care if you’re just starting out, focus on building a long term business and ignore the sirens of fast affiliate profits with no work or thought necessary.

Great advice for newbies and struggling affiliates. There is not a single PPC campaign builder tool out there, that can replace my recipe.

It’s easy to be lured with promises of reaping huge rewards with these tools. Not even a subscribed keywoord tool is worth spending your money on when you’re starting out or trying hard to get your first campaign successful. Instead spend that money on learning and testing it yourself. best investment you will ever make.

Reminds me of those ebooks talking how you can get google ads for free … About 95% of those ebooks are rubbish, but there are a few gems :)

    Amit,
I’m a big fan of yours and I find you blog very inspiring. I admit I am very envious. For a long while now, I’ve felt the way you have about “NOT HAVING TO SACRIFICE THE MOST VALUABLE DAYS AND YEARS OF YOUR LIFE TO JOB”. I have, for a long time wanted to build a long-term sustainable business and I’ve made MANY wrong turns in my journey. A Journey which has lead me to Affiliate Marketing and your blog.

I’ve been working really hard and working on “working smarter”. Lately, I’ve been very torn as to where I should concentrate my efforts. I’ve been studying and practicing PPC techniques. And well, I’ve come to question as to whether or not I want to make money “this” way. Using techniques like having a Polling Site where the user clicks through to the offer.

But, what your blog keeps espousing, I’d admit is always present in the back of my mind. I’ve intermittently been working on more robust websites. One with articles as well as Product price comparisons. And another one that provides a particular service for members.

I have to ask you what kinds of offers do you build your site around? I assume your products are items such as shoes or candles? But do you build your sites around lead generation at all? email or zip submets?

Thanks for the inspiration I hope to be a success someday.

Good sincere advice Amit and I agree with it but right now frankly I’d very happy with making a fast buck.

Good post, Amit. It reminds me of one of the 7 habits of highly effective people…begin with the end in mind.
